Bridge Star Foundation is a Canadian not-for-profit organization dedicated to sponsoring education for needy and vulnerable children, with a particular focus on Africa and a regional office in Nairobi, Kenya.
A bridge connects two places that would otherwise stay apart. For a child born into poverty, that's often exactly what stands between them and an education — a gap in school fees, a missing uniform, a family in crisis. Bridge Star Foundation exists to be that bridge: the structure that carries a child from where they are to where their ability and ambition can take them.
We started as a small group of Canadian and Kenyan volunteers pooling resources to keep a handful of children in school. As word spread and more communities asked for help, we formalized into a registered foundation, opened a regional office in Nairobi to manage programs on the ground, and built the partnerships with schools, chiefs and local organizations that let us grow responsibly rather than quickly.
Today, our Canada-based team manages fundraising, donor relationships and governance, while our Kenya-based field team handles what matters most: finding the children who need us, verifying their circumstances, and walking with them year after year.
A small group of volunteers in Canada begin sponsoring school fees for a handful of children in Kenya through personal networks and church partnerships.
We establish a permanent office in Kenya to coordinate registration, school partnerships and monitoring, moving from ad-hoc sponsorship to a structured program.
